Recently Katie, a friend of my daughter, had a baby shower. In the past I'd made a baby blanket for her last baby which was so loved she asked for me to make her one for this baby too. She also has a 3rd child which is just a bit older than the others. I didn't think it was fair for 2 of the 3 children to have a baby blanket so I decided to make one for the older child too. Back in the 60s I'd made a pillow for my grandmother and I remembered the design, thinking it would be pretty done as a baby blanket. So off to work I went and stitched up my Avalon Baby Blanket Pattern done a bit larger for the 3rd child.
Katie told my daughter that for this newest baby she had picked the colors of purple and yellow. I had a pattern for a baby afghan that would work up well in those colors, so once again I started stitching away. This is the result:
Since Katie also had requested a baby sweater, bonnet and booties, I designed a baby sweater set to coordinate with the baby afghan. I am so pleased with how they turned out.
I had fun at the baby shower and the baby afghan and sweater set were well received :-)
I decided to publish and sell this pattern and it's available in my Etsy Shop
