Learning to Chenille

I've been wanting to learn another beadweaving style so this time I turned to the Chenille Stitch.  Making 2 small beaded ropes in this stitch I then curved it so the ends were together, added some seed beads as closures then attached to ear hooks.  The result created beaded earring hoops in the lovely Chenille Stitch.  It was much easier to make than I originally thought :-)

Jingle Jangle Dangle

I'm really REALLY enjoying making chainmaille jewelry!  I even signed up for a class at one point, but the instructor was unprepared and more about selling store supplies than teaching anything. (I won't be taking any more of her classes!).  However while in the class I did learn the shaggy loops style of chainmaille which has later resulted in these earrings!

That's Amore'

When I first saw how these were made I said to myself "I just gotta learn to do this!"  And I did :-)

They are called 'puffy hearts'.  They can be made in all one color or 2 sided (I like I did) and I've even seen them done shaded from light to dark or shades of the rainbow.  No matter how they are done, they are beautiful!  They sparkle and twinkle in the light yet are light, and perfect for either day or evening wear.  This is my first 'puffy heart'.

It's made with crystal bicones (Czech fire polished) which are red on one side and pink on the other.  Accent beads are gold seed beads.  I will definitely be making more of these in different colors!

Available in either my zibbet shop ( ) or my Etsy store ( )

Gotta Love Evergreen

I had a customer order a bookmark made in the color evergreen.  It came out lovely and I wanted to share it with everyone.  I don't know the color number but it's Lizbeth thread and the design is by Jane McLellen.

I liked this so much I made a 2nd one and put it up for sale in my Etsy and Zibbet shops.

Lavender and Blue

When I was making my Golden Amber Pearl Beaded Bracelet I kept thinking about how the crystal beads would look pretty in other colors as well.  Then the next trip to my beading supply store and there they were....sets of lavender and blue beads with pink and rose beads to accent them.  So I just HAD to get them and make another bracelet.  This is the result:

The lavender, blue, pink, and rose crystals line the side of a white pearl center row then the white seed beads are added to create a chevron effect.

My Lavender Blue Crystal Beaded Bracelet is available in either my Zibbet Shop ( ) or my Etsy Shop ( )

Last night I dreamed about making a crystal heart so that's my next project.  I hope to start working on it tonight!

Floating Beads

I wanted to make something simple yet colorful that included beads but was also chainmaille.  So I put together this simple chainmaille design (it's called 2 in 1) and added 2 shades of Amber glass beads and 2 shades of Green glass beads in a way so the beads 'float' around the rings. It came out so nice I took the remaining beads and rings and made a matching pair of earrings to go with it!

I'm really happy with how it turned out and plan to make more of these in different colors!  The earrings come as a FREE GIFT with the purchase of the bracelet from either my Etsy shop ( ) or my Zibbet shop ( ).

Winter Blue Ice

Just finished listing another beaded bracelet.  This one is based on the right angle weave.  The base is white seed beads woven into a lattice work, then beaded over with blue bicone beads and blue lined seed beads.  It's finished off with a silver toned claw clasp.

It might look delicate but it's really solid and can be worn both for daytime or evening wear.  Available in either my Etsy shop ( ) or my Zibbet shop ( )

As some of you know I've been trying my hand at making some chainmaille jewelry.  I'm really enjoying the process and learning this new skill!   I didn't realize how important the size of the wire gauge and size of the ring (i.e. Aspect Ratio) is, but for some weaves if the Aspect Ratio isn't right the weave either won't work or is too loose.  Who knew I'd need to refresh my math skills to do this!

This is a picture of my attempts at Mobius Rosettes and making them into a bracelet and earrings.  I am learning new chainmaille 'weaves' and hope to have more available soon.

Available in either my Etsy shop ( ) or Zibbet store ( ).

Hello 2014 !

Greetings everyone!  It's a new year and with the new year I am adding new items to my product lines.  This year I will be adding both Beaded and Chainmaille items to my jewelry line.

Today's addition is a beautiful Golden Amber and Pearl Beaded bracelet.  The base of the bracelet is off white glass pearls and is lined on the outside edges with Czech fired glass amber beads in varying shades.  Then to top it off there are gold lined accent seed beads crossing over the top.

This bracelet is available in either my Etsy shop ( ) or my Zibbet shop ( ).  I will also entertain requests if other color combinations are desired.

More pictures and new items to come!  It's great to be back after the holidays!
