Where I have been...

Well...from my last post you all can see we got a puppy named Sophie.  She is such a delight and I love having her in my life.  In fact she was so wonderful that shortly after we got her, my daughter and I went back and got me a puppy!

He is also a cross breed of Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu only he takes after the Bichon side (has curlier [is that a word?] hair.  He's the four legged love of my life!  His name is Sawyer and this is the best picture I have of him (he isn't still for photos very often..lol)

However, having 2 puppies, trying to housebreak and basic obedience train them has kept me very busy all this time.  I've done a little tatting and other creating, but finding the time to post here about them hasn't come easy.  Now that Sophie is nearly 1 year old and Sawyer is 10 months old I'm starting to get back into a more normal schedule and getting back to work on some of the projects that got set aside.

This is my newest tatting.  It's a bookmark I made based on Jon Yusoff's Rose Window design.  I worked it up in a deep rose thread (Lizbeth's English Rose Dark I think is the name) and the picture really doesn't reflect how pretty this color is.

I also tried my hand at something new for me...beaded crochet rope.  I had bought a kit for this a while back, came across it one day, and decided to give it a go.  I really enjoyed working this up and was very pleasantly surprised at how nicely it came out.  I plan to make more beaded crochet rope items and have already started on another one in a different design.

The bookmark and bracelet are available in my shop - http://PeachtreeCottage.etsy.com

My posting might be a bit less often but I am going to try to post more when I do post.  I want to also say thank you to all the other blog people out there who continue to provide me with such wonderful inspiration!

  1. Oh my, what cute doggies! I don't have any pets but I know they take a lot of care and training, especially as puppies. The difficult thing is trying not to spoil them, because they can sense that they can control you! I've seen it happen! But they are SO adorable, it's hard not to spoil them!

That's a really pretty bookmark, and I think that bracelet is perfectly done. Very nice finishing! I've seen some videos on how it's done and I'd like to try it.

  2. Hi Kathy,

Thanks! I love these two furballs and the fact that they are non-shedding really is nice too! hehe

Give the bracelets a try! I was nervous about it at first too but it turned out a lot easier than I thought and worked up very quickly. I've already gotten more beads and am working on another one!
